• ? on sub amp combo

I currently have a four channel amp running all Alpine Type-R speakers with a 7893 Alpine deck. This is what I have in mind for the sub/amp combo, please let me know what is best and is the amp sufficient:

Box: Drivers side stealth box (from subthump) ($112)

Amp: Alpine MRD-M300 (150W x 1 Mono Subwoofer Amplifier) ($235 from Ikesoundd)

Sub: 10" Alpine Type-R sub ($105 from Ikesound)
or 10" JL sub??

I guess my biggest question is on the JL sub, I hear they are good, but I can't find them cheap anywhere. I have all Alpine stuff and it sounds great so the 10" Alpine sub for only $105 is an awsome deal. Suggestions please??

sounds good to me, because i think rms on that sub is around 300watts, and thats what ur amp puts out at 2 ohms, and the sub u want is dvc, so sounds good to me. But yeah jl's are hard to find for really good prices, thats the problem i had when i wanted boston acoustics. id stick with the alpine, your not gonna get a jl sub to hit like that for the same price, at least from what ive seen.

I would definately stick with the Alpine sub over the JL sub in this case. They Type Rs hit a little harder than the JL.

I vote the Type-R as well. But damn that amp is expensive! $235 for 150WRMS ?!?!?!!? You can get a Kicker kx400.1 off ebay for under $200 and it puts out more then double that....

150 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms
300 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms

I am going for quality over quantity anyways. Thanks for the feed back guys.
