• How do I remove the door panels with manual windows?

Speaker is rattling something inside the door. It started like 2 months after I got the speakers. My guess is something is loose. I had my audio shop look at it, and they tightened the speakers and put some foam inside the door... but still rattling. SO... I'd like to take the panel off myself and figure out where the annoying rattle is coming from.

I cant seem to find any guide on how to remove the door panel with a manual window crank. Please let me know if you know how to do this.

Thanks
Tobes

you need to pull a c-clip out that is on the door handle...

once that is off, the handle pulls straight out. after that its half common sense

I have done it with flat head screwdirver before, but gashed up the plastic a little.

Use a rag and put one edge up in the crack....us a back and forth mottion while pulling up on the rag to get the c-clip out.

doesn't work as easy as it sounds, but it does work...

I think autozone might have a tool for it...

I used a kitchen knife that didn't have a pointed tip to push it off when I installed my speakers in the Camaro. You kind of just have to get the tip on one end of the C-clip and push. It worked fine once I got the hang of it, but I'm sure the tool would make things easier.

I'll give it a shot this weekend. I noticed that the Crank is actually really really loose on that door and I think maybe that could be what is rattling. is there a way to tighten it?

I don't think you could really "tighten" the crank. When you're reinstalling the cranks you can just stick the C-clip on the crank and snap it on, so your best bet might be to remove it and reinstall it to see what happens.

you cannot tighten it...

if the clip is missing you can pull the crank off easily.

thanks a lot guys.. Autozone said they 'probably' have the tool to take the crank off.. if they do, I'll just buy that and make things easier.
If not, then I'll try it the hard way!
