  • PROBLEM: Installing Output Converter

ok im pretty sure i did this wrong.
I went to best buy got a adjustable line out converter so i can could have RCA hookup to the stock deck. It came with 6 wires: grey+, grey/black- what plugs into right speaker output, white+, white/black- which goes to left speaker output, and two brown wires.
I used the wires from the stokc deck and wired these together:
    grey-dark blue
    grey/black-light blue
    white-brown
    white/black-yellow
I also ran a wire from my amp to the pink wire for a remote
im pretty sure i totally jacked things up. any help would be greatly appriciated

What you did sounds right...it even checks with the FAQ. What do you have the line-out adjusted to? Where did you splice it in (at monsoon amp or behind HU)? Did you clip and crimp or splice it and maintain previous speaker connection?
Your sig is the most important part of your message. Make sure that you list EVERY single thing that you have done to your car so that we can all go \'oooh!\' and \'Ah!\'. Please make your sig consistently longer than anything else you post. Please include your lengthy sig with EVERY single post you make during a reply, even if you only reply with a monosyllable grunt.

ok i got the amp thing all dialed in. I did it behind the HU. I clipped the wires and connected them to the adapter. But now i have no sound.. i was thinking it could be because i was supposed to keep the rear speaker connections connected to the harness also?

If you completely cut the wires then that's why your speakers aren't working. You need to "splice" the adapter into the factory wiring.

Yes you should have kept them connected. Reconnect the wires you cut.
