    Ok, need help...loc to amp

    I have a JL Audio 12W6, and an XPLOD amp, as well as a Jensen LOC.

    I don't have monsoon, so I spliced both the rear speakers into the LOC, and connected it to the amp for input. Amp is powered up and working fine- connect sub to amp, sound seems distorted, sounds like **** basically.

    Sub works fine when hooked up to the rear speaker wire by itself, but obviously underpowered (did this just to make sure sub wasn't blown).

    Can anyone offer advice?

    I think you do have the monsoon amp in your car. I had the same problem when I first installed my amp (I didn't think I had the monsoon amp either). Check behind your spare tire to make sure you really don't have the monsoon amp there. I ended up running new speaker wire from the amp to each speaker.

        Sorry that wasn't clear. I ran wires from my new amp to each speaker. Everything sounded perfect after that.

                The problem is ur input not ur amp bro- I did this setup for a while only I used the right rear speaker for input. Got way distored sound, changed to a deck with preouts ( RCA cable ) and bam, qulity like no other . I have a JL 12 w6v2.

                  Yeah I figured your HU didnt have an LCA output. LCAs make it so much easier.

                    Can't afford it- actually I think the sub might be blown.

                    Did you use an LOC and it still didn't work? This is discouraging.
