I've heard of people nailing it in...others using industrial strength velcro. There are tons of ways to keep it in there. Do what you feel comfortable with.

it has these things on the side that faces toward the center of the trunk, where the subs face points, there are like 4 little things htat look like they hook onto string... what are those for? lol im so confused!!!! my amp sits inside of the spare tire wraped in my floor mats for cushion, but my wire doesnt reach! dangit!!! i need to go buy some more wire... think i can just copy the gauge and use the same guage instead of buying thos hella rip off amp kits?

Yes any 12-16gauge wire from your amp to sub will work fine. Make sure the amp is getting enough airflow where you placed it. Especially if its surrounded by your mats like you said. Good luck mounting the box... I've wanted to get one for my car but never got around to it.

Mine has never fallen out. The cover should hold it in place just fine if you have it on.

lol, I think we've found your problem. Did it not come with something that looks like this?

This is what mine looks like. Without that cover it will fall out, as I'm sure you've noticed.
