  • Stupidest Question EVER....

Where is/Is there a rear defogger switch somewhere on the 97 Firebird Dash. I swapped it into my 94 and now that I'm gonna start driving it around, I realized I have no clue where it is. Does it come on automatically when you turn the front defroster on? Help an idiot out please....lol.

i have a 98 and my rear defroster is below the air control... the ones with I, II, III and IIII ... below it and to the left is a little round button that lights up orange when you press it while the defroster is on... thats where my button is don't know if it is different for a 97

See, thats a camaro interior though. Remember, I have the 97 bird interior in mine, including dash. lol. Who'd think finding a commonly used button would be this hard. I think i'm gonna end up having to just carry a blowtorch with me and hold it towards the back window while i drive till the car warms up....lol.

On the Firebird and the 98+ Camaro they're always right below the fan control knob. Maybe the Firebird the interior is from didn't have a rear defroster.

Nope, didn't find it, but I realized that two propane plumbing torches would mount nicely in small fire extinguisher holders aimed at the rear windshield...hehe. I think it is where everyone is saying, right in with the a/c controls. I noticed there was an empty spot there for something to be connected, but I guess the car didn't come with it....didn't know that was an optional item. oh well. ::click::, ::spark::, ::click::, ::spark::, FIRE!!!! :-D

my 97 camaro doesn't have a rear defroster....but i had a couple switches screwed up last year and bought a new control panel off ebay, and now i have a switch for the rear defroster but it's not connected to anything of course.

i'll sell you my defrost button for $1! :)jk
