Ive been waiting to buy these and i finally got them! it took me about 2 hours to get them in though. they wouldnt fit with out a spacer. so i used a 5/8 in spacer, i couldnt find any 1/2 that was cheap and little(had to fit in my car) at lowes.
first i cut the rings to fit the speakers. i used the little speaker cover that came with them that protects them during shipping as my template. then i had to cut nubs out for the voice coils. then i put them in the car and marked where i had to cut a little out for the voice coils. then screwed them in.
actually fitting the speakers in is the hard part. the hole is to small, so i had to keep pulling on the plastic. it would have probably been easier to just remove the sail panel. then i just screwed them into the wood rings.
i didnt have a chance to adjust the amp for them yet becuz i have to take the cover off and i didnt have enough time.
so heres then entire setup as of now:
edi 6000's in front
eu 700's d4 in sails
both powered by a nine.4
2 13kv's powered by a nine.1
i turned the subs off before i turned them on for the 1st time. so i put on mudvayne- forget to remember, and my jaw dropped. they sounded absolutely amazing. the 6000's and the 700's mix beautifully. the sq is absolutely top notch. i havent heard anything quite like this before. so then i throw some static x on, again nothing but smiles. so now time to test the lows, i put on ying yang twins- badd, it was like they were laughing at me. them more i pushed them the better they sounded. the excursion on these thing are insane too! i cant wait to dial them in a little more when i get the chance.
