• Problem with amp or sub

    I just installed my new HU(Pioneer DEH-P6500) today and my sub was working fine and when i was driving to work i floored it to pass someone and my sub just cut out. no more bass. I dont know what happened, now when i turn on the car a red light comes on, on the amp. Help?

    sounds like your thermal protection circuit kicked in. Of course, if it's coming on when you start the car too, it may already be too late. Something might be fried.

          ok problem solved, it was the ground wire the wire came uncrimped from the ring terminal.

            lucky guy. that's a cheap fix. Who did the install? That's absolutely unacceptable.

              </font>
haha that would be my friend and I, we installed it way back in Oct in the dead of night lol. i took the amp of the amp rack and took it apart and there was nothing wrong with it, then my friend tom came over then we hooked up my amp and sub to his system and everything was fine. then i looked at the ground wire .
