  • rockford sub vs. kicker sub

well guys i have a kicker solobaric L7 10. i am going to get the box for the cubby with my ttops, i was thinking about getting the rockford T1 rated at 600 watts rms 1200 max, my kicker was the same rating will it be worth getting the rockford or no! p.s. it require .5-1.00 in sealed and them boxes are like .6-.7 ish! i think and i have no idea bout the solobaric! plus the solobaric is old and wore out IMO i have beat it up pretty hard with my 800 watts rms amp, and someone (2 ppl) are offering me 100 bucks for the kicker sub. so what ya think i should do if neither recommend me something close to 800 watt rms!

I've heard kicker solobarics before, 2 12s and they sounded veryyy nice, better sound quality then my old JL W7 and almost as much bass as the W7.

I've also heard Rockford Power HX2s those are what you would want if you went along the line of rockford. They have more bass but less sound quality then the solobarics... I've heard punches and other rockfords and they do not sound nearly as nice as the solobarics

the rockford tend to blow pretty easily from what ive seen. a guy i used to work with had two of them and he had to replace them 3 times. dunno maybe hes just an idiot though.

It is possible to overload subs/amps etc. I suggest going witht eh right rms for both to start off with the basics. You need to make sure your amp and sub are compatible (ohms, voice coils on sub, etc.). Both companies are good, you just need to make sure oyu have the products researched. i wouldn't go with anything lss than a p2 for a rockford, and I'd really go with a type r over a p3. It's all your own opinion tho. Kicker is known for their quality product. Just make sure your amp and subs match, otherwise, you will blow the sub or fry your amp. Also make sure your equipment is hooked up correctly witht he proper amp kit (guage wire ranges from 2-10)

you still have to keep in mind the sub displacement which is usually around .1 or so.
