Tool & Materials:
1/2 in wood used to make the spacers
Jig saw to make rings
Cutting tool to make cuts for the voice coils to fit (dremel, jig saw, whatever works)
Wire
Sound Deadener (optional)
Pliers
Drill
1. First thing you have to do is remove the sail panels. To do this all you have the do is unscrew the 1 screw by the door and use a screw driver to pull the clip out of the little hanger. Then it just pops off, it’s held on by Velcro.
2. Now that you have the speaker out, you can "seal" the space up or just leave it like it is. I chose to seal it up a little bit. I just cut chunks of sound deadener (edead v1) and covered the big holes with it. You might want to run a ring of deadener on. The outside where the ring with sit on the body to prevent vibration.
Optional steps to prevent rattles:
3. Notice this wire, the plastic clips that hold it on are very loose. These can and will cause rattles.
4. Use some pliers to wiggle them out and cut at the line, or just that the hold plastic ring off.
5. Cover the holes on the body with a little square of sound deadener. This will keep this wire from vibrating on the body.
6. Use a strip of sound deadener to hold the wire in its stock location.
End of optional Steps
7. Cut out 2 indents in the body to fit the voice coils in. I got away with doing one big one. After you done test fit to make sure you can fit them in and out easy. I cut mine on the side, but the coils are one the top and bottom of the speaker when the eD logo is horizontal. So I just put them in and twisted them.
