Wuss! j/k you--> <--me. I suggested a single 10" from the beginning. But if he wants to slam it, two L7's and 1200WRMS would be way loud.
Earnhar, if you decide to go with the viper 1200.1... you'll need the dual 4 ohm version of the Kicker L7's. Example. NOT the dual 2 ohm version. This will allow you to place a 1 ohm load on the amp and get the full 1200WRMS out of her.
I'll probably be getting the L5s, the L7s are a little priccy... But that still isn't concrete. How would 2 Audiobahn AW1200Ns be? I've never really heard anything about Audiobahn subs, so what are your opinions on them? Or how about the Rockford Fosgate P312D4? Again, I've never heard anything about this brand, so gonna need some input on these suggestions...
Thanks for any help .

Never been a fan of any Audiobahn speakers. That means subwoofers, 6.5"s ... any of them. I ran Rockford HX2's years ago. Great subs. Don't have any personal/close friend experience with the P-lines though.
Alright, a few more questions... If I go with the L5s...
I haven't upgraded the big 3 yet, should I do that? Or won't it really matter? And what is a capacitor for? I've been looking at articacid's setup and I like how it looks so clean. I noticed he has a cap, so I had to ask. And if the subs get too overwhelming, I'll use the features on my HU and get it to where I like it. Thanks for all the help so far guys, you guys know your stuff .

I just got my first pair of subs this summer. I went with...
2 12" Alpine type E
Q-Logic QLH-12D100 (fits perfectly on the back ledge
Kenwood KAC-9102D
I think it sounds great. You don't need to much power in our cars with them being hatchbacks.
My sister works at Bestbuy so I got a discount of the subs and amp. I got the box from crutchfield.com for about 70 bucks if I remember right. You could probably get a good deal all together off that site. Very dependable and safe.
Check out my cardomain for pictures.
earnhardt i have 2 RF p312d4's.. i like them alot.. but it drains on my alternator pretty good sometimes..especially if your listenin to it loud at a stop sign or somethin... if you get them prally look into a capacitor or upgrading the big 3.. i will prally be doin one of those shortly.
Originally posted by CAMAROWIDBASS: if you can get a quality cap for less than $30 or so then go for it. Other than that i would just use that money to get a HO alt.
There is MUCH debate on how cap's are usless, do some research and decide for yourself.
Not much going on, replaced my Kenwood double din stereo with a Pioneer double din, the Kenwood had problems. Then replaced my power inverter for my reverse...
