Bad Radio signals?

Hey, I reccently bought the Kenwood Excelon
KDC-X679. Almost all the radio station signals are weak. What is causing this?

Before I had this stereo I had a Clarion head unit which picked up all my radio stations pretty clear.

OK, do this.
Get a DMM (Digital Multi Meter). Pull your deck and pull the antenna plug out of it. The plug has two parts, the inner conductor and the outer conductor. The inner conductor is the pole that sticks out and the outer conductor is the body of the plug.
Set the DMM to Ohms and put one test lead on the outer conductor (plug body) and the other lead to a good chassis ground. Should read 3 ohms or less. If that's OK, put one test lead on the inner conductor (pole) and the other all the way back to the antenna mast. Should read under 3 ohms. If either are over 3 ohms, you may have a bad antenna cable, or antenna plug. Replace if necessary. If OK, blame the poor reception on the tuner in the deck.

i have that headunit and my radio connections seem a just fine. *shrug*
