i gotta blown monsoon sub youe could put back there, make me an offer and we can talk!!! haha j/k

depends on how much is too much, what all you need, do you want subs,amp or subs, components with an amp, or just something fairly cheap with repitable quality and decent bump

honestly the way you talk prolly 2 10's depending on how much you want to spend you can go from there

haha for 2 10s you have to have A amp, maybe some kicker compcvr10 with an audiobahn amp, for cheap but good amp is audiobahn, i have one and i was shocked at how decent it was for price, i think you can get one that pushes 800 watts at 2 ohms for like 170ish shipped, that is probably going to be the most expensive part is an amp, decide on an amp then go with subs, how much do you want to spend total on amp/subs altogther

if sound quality is a priority alot with price you could get 2 elemental designs 11kv.2's along with a nine.2 amp. you could give them 150 watts rms a piece. you can get the 2 subs and amp for $378.25. it really is a deal when you consider the quality. this is high end stuff.

you could also get a nine1 and 2 13.kv2 for $510 and give them 450 w rms a piece.

Sorry Kristen, but the boys are correct. An amp for your subwoofers is a must. Not a good option, but rather a necessity. No avoiding it.

If you're looking for cheap but still somewhat worth your time, check out Audiobahn. TONS on Ebay. Some other ideas for cheapness, Kicker COMP VR subwoofers...hifonics amp...Ebay Ebay Ebay.

i don't know anything about audio. the only thing i can say budget wise is that i never have a budget. as for this mini project i like the way my sound is now i just want a little something more. so i want good sound at the cheapest price. so lets start there. what is the cheaptest thing to get?

and can you guys explain what ever you talk about like sq and spl.

i love to learn and this is the only part of my car that i don't know anything about.

thanks for your help

SQ= Sound quality
SPL= Sound pressure level

There's two paths you can choose when building a sound system.

If you build one that's just crystal clear and sounds great to listen to, then that's refered to as SQ (and the speakers that go into that system are refered to as SQ speakers).

If you want to build a system that you can enter SPL competetions with, there are specific speakers just designed for that. They don't sound as good to the ear as SQ components sound, but they generally handle a tremendous amount of power, and will get extremly loud.

Do you want a new CD player too? New speakers?

your going to need an amp if you want to add subs. If your looking for better sound without an amp you can go with new 6x9s, midrange and tweeters, to replace the stock ones that are horrible. For a good set of midrange and tweeters you will pay around 60-100, for 6x9s you will pay another 60-200.

If you get subs, I would suggest kicker's solobaric L7s, out of all the subs I've owned and heard they sound the best, for both SPL and SQ. If you can't afford them you can get a pair of kicker comps.

If your looking for SPL(the kind of bass that gives you headaches)... I would suggest either a JL W7(had one in my car for about a year... the bass was to powerful to enjoy any kind of music) or a Rockford Power HX2.. I heard a system setup with 2 12s and another with 2 10s, they both had decent SQ along with the SPL

What about 2 10in Type S or even some Type R subs. Good and cheap subs.

Type R's

Maybe you can find them for cheaper on Ebay.
