• Best alarm system?

Well my sisters sunfire got broken into and they stole everything including 2 amps and 2 12's. I dont have any alarm on my car but i definitly dont want some1 bashin my window out to get inside. I dont have any expensive stereo equipment yet or anything else but i wanna feel safe. Ive heard about alarms that have beepers that will go off on ur keychain when the car goes off. Does anyone have this? What is the best alarm system for the money???

Viper 300ESP. thats what i have, but the Viper 550ESP is good for you if you have power windows and locks, and want a remote starter

Viper is truly the top of the chain when it comes to alarms.

      DEI

Straight forward and easy to use. It doesn't have the pager function, but you can get an add on unit for that.

I have a model that is about a year old. The 1500. It has remote start, trunk release, lights, shock sensor and all that built into it. I have added remote windows to it. (If you do that in a camaro post for help or you'll blow the damn window motor like I did - not cheap). I'm also adding dual prox sensors. I'll hopefully be doing that in a few months. They make better alarms than anyone I think. I've installed other brands. The other reputable ones like the alpine 8081 are okay from what I've seen, but there's too damn many wires and not as dependable from what I've heard. Clifford alarms are not "bad" but they're not cool to install. Some folks like them cause you can program some stuff on it through your computer but I don't mind using the program button for a real alarm.

So anyway, there ya go. DEI is the way to go in my opinion.

Viper systems are some of the best on the market. I have the Viper 550ESP, but the 800 is really good, so is the 300.

If you can't afford some of the better ones (ya nkow the ones that cost $1000+), then the Viper by DEI is the best around.

Now to clarify, DEI owns everything just about. Clifford, DEI, and several other brands. About the only ones that DEI DOESN'T own is Code alarms systems and Alpine.

BTW the pager systme is USELESS. It take sometimes MINUTES to get the page.

CodeAlarm has THE BEST shock sensor available today! But as a side note, most newer Camaro's and Firebird alarm sustems have the same shock sensor as come with the elite CodeAlarm systems. I have loved my Code, and wouldn't trade it for any other. And I have tried Clifford best too, it is not half as easy to use and program as CodeAlarms are.
