  • Running laptop off battery

Well I just destroyed my battery by running a laptop off it(using my HP Tuner).. I have it on the recharger right now(hope it didn't short anythign out)

I was wondering if a red or yellow top could handle the amount of power that my laptop requires.. anybody know?

Uhhhh, Yeah, but i'm concerned on how your hooking it up.

With a cigrate AC power adapter connected to your AC source, connected to your laptop, should draw no more than 100w.

a laptop will not make you need a new battery or alt. why kind of power inverter are you using, maybe it wasnt big enough. some cheap ones like the 15 dollar ones you see at walmart wont cut it on some laptops. they say there 100 or 75 watt but thats peak and only run so much power for a short period of time like an hour.

are you leaving it on with teh car off?

Buy a power inverter with hard wire capability... i have no problem running my labtop in my car with it hard wired. and i can leave it on almost always and never fluctuates my voltage

theres no need to hard wire it, it makes no difference anyway.
