ok so a little while ago my stock battery was a little worn, it got real cold out and it died finally. so i bought an optima red top. it pretty good at 1st with the new battery noticed it handled the stereo a little better. then after a few weeks i go to start it and it seems kinda slow to start, like it was low.
ever since then when i start the car after it has sat overnight voltage goes to 15. it did this before but only for a very little bit. now it stays there for awhile then it will drop to about 14.6-14.4 and stay there for about 20 mins while driving. then finally it will drop to 14.1 where it always stayed before. but then it goes back up to 14.4.
i have disconnected my lighting just incase it was the problem and just in case the fuse didnt blow by some odd chance, not the problem.
if there was a short somewhere else, the fuse should blow, correct? everything in the stock wiring is fused. ive confirmed its not lights wiring. so im almost positive that nothing is draining it while the car is off.
if it was the alt, it wouldnt put out the voltages that im getting right?
ive had the battery tested and they said it was ok. but i noticed when they tested it, they had to fully charge it 1st and when it started the battery only had 410 cca's, should have been around 700ish. it took forever for them to charge and test it too.
im thinking its just the battery not holding charge, any ideas?
also i have noticed the problem really only seems to be present when the temp outside drops(when i say drops i mean goes to or below 32 deg.).
