  • Best Head Unit - Votes

Ok to start it off, my vote is for the....

    JVC Digifine 99 - MP3/CD Player

Plays and Reads mp3s quickly, tons of features, plays CD's/CD-Rs AND CD-RW's. CD Text, Motorized face, sub control LOOKS GREAT! You name it!

    Eclipse 5441 gets my vote.

    45W x 4 with 5V preouts at only (100ohms) :D
    motorized face, w/ spectrum analyzer
ESN security protection (free replacement if stolen)

    Anything Eclipse is simply AMAZING!!

I agree here. I love my Eclipse deck! I have an older one, but the quality endures! That 5441 is a bad mumbo jumbo. But Rev failed to mention it is a mear 13X4Watts RMS....not a lot of deck power, but clean. This deck is more powerful when amped. If you have amps or plan to run amps instead of deck power, a good call. Visit www.eclipse-web.com to check out their line. They have others too.

ahh mine is only 25 x 4! But it sounds damn better than the Monsoon.. plus with an aftermarket AMP, 25 x 4 could be the same as a 52 x 4 or no?

Eclipse or Alpine in my opinion. I listened to a lot of decks before I decided on my Alpine.

I like the new Kenwood excelon KDC-X917 it has all kind of good stuff in it but it should for $599.99. I like how you can shut off the internal amp if you plan on adding external ones.

My Alpine 7949 is a POS. Can't wait to get an Eclipse.

btw, deck power does not get added to amp power. You also have to realize that eclipse rates their deck power rms while most others are peak. I guarantee that advertisesd 40by4 only puts out around 15 rms watts.

Am I the only one who likes the looks of the Alpine 857? I just couldn't bring myself to put a din deck into a din&half slot. I am a fan of Eclispe, but love the looks of the Alpine. The Alpine has a lot of gadgets, but lacks in the function area. Where as my Eclispe has no gadgets, and no looks, but it has more control over the system. So you make the call, it's what you want most...Looks & Gadgets or Function. Michael

It sounds incredible just getting it to play and work right is the problem. I think i got a bad one. If yours works right you will love the sound.
