• Scanner Antenna

I bought a police scanner by Uniden ,.. The Bear cat 350c (BC350c) and i intend on mounting it in my center console of my car, but the "mobile in car antenna" it came with doesnt get the greatest reception. so i bought an adapter to go from the scanners antenna outlet to a cb radio antennas outlet. Well my question is will this pick up a signal, or no.. because its a dif freq.? I want to buy a 3 ft antenna for a cb and possibly mount this under the car. Anyone know how that will work out haha ?
I know that am/fm antennas can pick up reception under the car but im not sure on this antenna and im curious if anyone has tried this before ?

it might work better than what you have but i'm not sure it would be ideal...radio waves travel horizantally..that's why antenna's are mounted vertically...i do believe they make adapters to hook them into your existing antenna...i'd try that route first if it were me...

My existing antenna doesnt exist anymore haha... but the guy at radio shack said that if i bought that adapter, it wouldnt work anyway because they are on a different freq. I shaved my antenna and mounted it under the rear of my car with a marine antenna, and it works great

I had my portable scanner in the maro with the antenna mounted in the back window with suction cups, worked perfectly.

My scanner came with the suction cups for the window also, but when I had them in my windshield I wasnt picking up reception at all, and when the stationary antenna is mounted in the house, it works perfectly.. I will try mounting it in the back window to see if I pick anything up, but other then that I guess itll be trial and error until I get it right. good thing I save my reciepts
