OK, ive been putting off getting the EU-700's from ED for awhile now, (financial reasons) but now its time that i take care of it. I was about to order, but now im stumped. I have the monsoon sound system in the car. Are the monsoon 6.5's 2ohm subs or 4? When i order form ED, should i buy the 4ohm dual voice coil or the 2ohm dual voice coil?
I think the monsoon runs at 2 ohms, so you would want to get the dual 4 ohm VC, so this way you can wire the VC's in parallel and acheive the 2 ohm load.
Ah, i see. I'll just need to learn how to do that. Last time i started a topic about this, somone posted a link that had a chart showing how to run the wires parallel. But, im a retard and wasnt to sure what to do even with the chart. Can somone explain what it means and how to run the wires parrallel?
sounds simple enough. But is it the 2ohm or the 4 ohm that i need for sure? lol, i was doing a search and diffrent people were saying diffrent things, which is why i needed to make this post. Camaro....are you 100% sure that i need the 4ohm?
Wired in parallel as stated above (same + wire attached to both + terminals on the sub, and - wire attached to both - terminals on the sub.)
This will half the overall resistance... 2 ohms, which is the matched load for that monsoon amp.
Just to clarify, </font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr /> i thought you would have to get daul 2's and wire them in series though.
In series, 2 ohms + 2 ohms = 4 ohms.
2 identical resistors in series, add the total.
2 identical resistors in parallel, half the total. </font>[/QUOTE]couldn't ahve put it better myself.
