Is it a piece of crap? Or just a nice, simple, few years old head unit?

Someone has to have at least one comment on this? Basically, I'm looking at that $99 package at Wal-Mart they have as a X-mas special. Comes with that headunit and four very basic speakers (2-6 1/2, 2-6*9). Just looking for something decent, nothing fancy. -
if you looking for a cheap upgrade, its ok i guess. probably wont sound much better than stock. didnt see if it had rcas either, so if you plan on adding subs you might have to get another head unit.

Yes. It's cheap as hell. But you already knew that. Do you already have a stock CD player? Or tape? If you already have the CD player, and it functions fine..... I'd stick with it. Save the money until you're ready to buy something worth your time. Not saying the DEH16 is going to fall apart on you....just saying it doesn't really offer anything over the stock unit so why spend the money?Comment

I have about an 8 year old pioneer cd player that basically crapped out on me. Just old I suppose. Not wanting to spend the money on it really. Just want something that sounds good. It's got 50W max I think, mine now is 35, that's how old it is....that would surely sound better?Comment
