yeah, mine sucks. looks awesome - horribly made. skips, and makes a nasty grinding noise when i put in cd's sometimes (usually when it's cold out).

Sony subwoofers don't suck if you know how to properly evaluate the woofer's thiele and small paramaters and correctly design a sealed or ported box based upon those... Sony's box recommendations are incorrect, but then again so are most manufacturers of subwoofers I find.

Their other stuff is about the same quality of Pioneer, and I probably wouldn't go with it unless they improve the quality of the headunits and powerhandling of component speakers.

I picked up my Alpine D857 locally for $320 out the door, but don't have it installed yet, so i can't offer quality issues yet, but i compared it to every other deck in TWETERS store and it sounded the best and even better is it's a 1.5 din.

:( Retails for $550 though if you don't have any connections for cheap audio stuff.
