Does it really matter what the sub looks like? I would take a sub that looked like a big pizza as long as it performed good!

15w0 is from jlaudio. they also sell w3, w6, w7, and they're coming out w/ a w8. im not sure if these other models are available in 15' though. hope this helps.

15WO is a JL sub. you can look at it at this site. It's an ok sub. I had a set of JL's back when they used to make a powerful sub. Now i have the new kicker solo-baric squares. My latest upgrade. Before that i would recommend a Rockford-Fosgate Power HX2 or punch HE2 depending on your application and intent. Alpine just came out with some new subs the E series. I still like the R series better. These are some good competition subs. But they are going to run you some good $$$$. I think the Alpine type R is the cheapest sub I just named. I know JL used to have good stuff and i bet you'd like it. i love to be able to turn heads for blocks so i stick with the big stuff.

The Alpine Type E's are the LOWEST in the line. They are intended to be a "budget" sub. And they don't even make them in the 15" size. The Type R line is the best they have now.

Next, I would EASILY take an Adire Audio Tempest over a JL 15W0. No contest. Naptown, you seem to be a great guy and you post alot on here so that's cool..... but you obviously know nothing about the Tempest. No offense really, but the Tempest is a outstanding sub.... and for a great price. The only problem is that they are meant to be run in pairs. They have Dual 8 ohm coils. (Acid ;) )
And yes Jamie, the Brahma is by far better, but he is asking for the best 15" for the money......... wait a minute..... you probably right!!! :D

so yall say i should go with the Adire Audio Tempest, but then you say they need to run in pairs? can they be installed solo or not? because i have a solo sealed box

I'll be installing mine in a solo box. The only problem i'm seeing with it is getting a good amp for just the one. Right now i'm looking at the Profile CA800. It claims 600 watts @ 4 ohms. If you can afford it get 2 Shiva's from adire audio. $120 a piece or something.

I dont know anything about Adire subwoofers I only know about top of the line subwoofers! You guys talk about these like their competition subs. Im sure he dont have enough power to juice these competition level subs. JL AUDIO IS WITH OUT A DOUBT TOP OF THE LINE! Their new line(W7) is way pricey but it comes with lifetime warrenty! It has patents on the W7 and W6 and have the best amps ever built! Looks matter a whole hell of alot. If you open your trunk and someone sees a sub that looks like you grabbed it out of a home theatre center then people are going to laugh at you. However if they see a name on it that they know is a hard hitting sub then your going to get kudo's (good points). This is just my .02 worth. JL AUDIO makes the 15W0 handles 150 watts RMS (continuous) Just let me know if you would like to purchase this from an Authorized JL Audio dealer through me for 200 shipped!
