  • 6x9s in the front?

Got 4 Bostons Acoustic 6X9s, total cost was about ~$500, but I got them free, and just wondering if you guys think it would be possible to mount them in the doors, with crank windows.

First look says a definite no, but hey worth a shot.

2nd question any one know a good 3 channel amp? I was thinking of putting 2 of the 6X9s in a boxes on the rear deck, and maybe add a Bazooka Tube or a 8 in. woofer, low powered but just a little bit of kick to it, nothing insane, more for quality then loudness.

3rd, I have a 94, so speakers are old along with speaker wires... Think its worth upgrading to better wire, maybe 14 guage speaker wire, I think I have a 100 ft. spool laying around somewhere, and old roomate gave me.

    thanks in advance.

sure they do not have 3 channel amps?

I could have sworn I have seen an amp that would be like 50/50/100 Watt, so you can add 2 speakers, and one sub?

hmm.... you cna bridge to channels to get more power so a 4 way amp that runs 50/50/50/50, and turn it to 50/50/100.

I was thinking of buying a nice set of front speakers, putting 6X9s in the stock spot, and getting boxes and mounitng 2 6x9s in the rear deck, and adding an amp.

also what size are the fronts? 5.25? circular?

I'm looking at the schematics for an old Pioneer GM-H22 which is a 3 channel capable amp. It shows you how to set up the speakers and gives cavaets for installation.

If I remember correctly when you take off the door panel the whole in the door is actually an oval shape, but there's a plastic mounting plate covering up part of the whole so that it has a circular shape. I'm not saying its 6x9, but I remember it being rather large. This just may be for mounting a 6.75" and tweeter

I thought the same thing..... but was then proved wrong. YES, there are STILL some 3-channel amps being made today by your run-of-the-mill companies. But I would still recommend getting a 4-channel and running it in 3-channel mode. Better in case you ever want to switch to a seperate sub amp.
