I have a 94 firebird with the 10 speaker system. I replaced my stock head unite with a Alpine CDA7893. Then I replaced the rest of my stock speakers with MA Audio full range speakers. I ran into one problem though, the factory subs would not come on after I put the head unite was installed. Everybody keeps telling me that it has something to due with the amp but I am not sure. I checked the wires with a test light and the positive and negative wires both made the test light come on. I then went to where the speakers into the wires that come form the head unit into the plug that connects to the factory amp. It worked until I took out the factory speakers recently to replace them with after market ones. HELP!!!

Your stock amp has a different impedance then the speakers you bought. Either pull that amp out, or buy a new one.

So is your subs not working, or are all of your speakers not working.

I think there is a different way you have to connect the HU to get the monsoon system to work right, I think.

i just put full range speakers all over my car so i don't need the amp. I have all my bass comming out of a 12in sub. The place where the factory subs are are the speakers that arn't working. After i put that head unite in (60*4) they stopped working so i found the wires that come from the headunite to teh amp and just bypassed the amp and directly patched them into those. they worked until i replaced the factory subs with full range speakers. i though that it was just the speakers so i hooked up the factory ones and they stopped working also.
