I got the idea from another board I read. I just had to the pull the casing off the antenna and mount it behind the third brake light assembly using double-sided sticky tape. I ran the wires along the hatch back trim following the brake light wires, to the dome light assembly, then down the car's trim into the trunk.
The recption is not as good as on the roof, but it's better then when I had it sitting on the rear deck.
Works on a camaro with the terk antenna that looks like a computer mouse. I'm not sure if it'll work for firebirds or other types of antennas.
