  • Amp front or rear input

I'm intalling an amp for my new subwoofer. I need to decide whether to take input from the front or rear head unit outputs. Would like to splice in near the Monsoon amp (before it), not behind the HU. I'm thinking rear, as that's how I normally would do it for other vehicles, but I'm not sure for this firebird because of those sail panel speakers. Are they powered by both front and rear, or what? Because when I fade either way, they still play. Any help you guys give me is appreciated.

Your answer is in our FAQ page at the top of this forum. And the sail panel speakers in the monsoon system are your "subs". That probably why they don't fade.

      Thanks, but...
I've read the FAQ and it didn't really answer my question. I mean it helps to know which wire is what, but that's not what I'm asking. What I'm asking is: "Do I want my sub to play what my front speakers play or what my back speakers play?"

And, yes, I realize that the sail panel speakers are "subs" but that doesn't really answer my question either. I mean, does anybody know what wires out of the monsoon amp actually power these sail panels? The wiring diagram on the FAQ page does not answer this questiong. But I'm sure it's a mix of front and rear, as said before, any ideas?

Basically, doesn't it make more sense to have my subwoofer play off of the rear speaker signal, what's your opinion?
