• Monsoon sail panel speaker blown

Any clue on what size the speaker for the driver's side sail panel is and how much it costs to replace it though the dealer? Thanks in advance

It's a 6 1/2" (or actually 6 3/4" if you wanna get real technical about it). If you're replacing it through the dealer, it'll cost a small fortune, like everything else the dealers sell. You should just leave it in and save up the cash to replace the sail panel and door speakers and run them from an aftermarket 4 channel amp.

Oh man thanks for the reply but 2 days too late. Just ordered all new parts and spent like 400 bucks on some Kicker 6 3/4 mid bass speakers and an MTX amp. Damn 35 bucks I wish I knew that....thanks though

hey UNFNick2k, once you get those Kicker midbass drivers installed, let me know how they sound, I was thinking of getting those. Also let me know how they fit. Good luck with the install

Since they are all blown just take them out and look at the back of the speaker and the number in black is your part number, then take that number and head over to gmpartsdirect.com because they are pretty cheap compaired to the dealer to replace, I sorta wish I just did that instead of bought 400 dollars of stuff.

hey UNFNick2k, I think you'll be happy with what you're putting in, I'm thinking of using the RMB6 mid drivers also, but I'm letting you be the test mouse. Please let me know how it all turns out, even email me mtbikerinme83@yahoo.com if you dont want to post. I'm hoping $149 for those will be fine and I wont have to spend $399 for a JL stealth box

Will do, they should be arriving tommorow by FedEx. I gotta run the wires and stuff but that should go pretty easy (hopefully) since I've never done anything like this before.

Anyone have any ideas on where to mount the amp?? It's an MTX thunder282.

BTW, you've got a sweet car, I don't really like white birds but yours is very sweet.

Freeser, thankx for the links. I knew about the subthump stealth, but at .5 cubic feet, it's hard to find a good sub for it that isn't over $300.

UNFNick2k, thanks, I'll appreciate it. I currently have an amp about the same size just to run my two front components, I ran the power cable down the passenger side, and mounted my am to the middle back wall up high enough not to get in the way of t-tops. You can mount it anywhere back there. I did it on 1/4" plexi, worked out well. I'll be mounting another amp back there up higher toward the passenger side. For the RCA interconnects, run those from the head unit down the drivers side, you'll get less interferance since they wont be by the power cable which some people pick up alternator noice off of. Hope that helps. Oh, and thanks for the complememnt on my car. I like my white bird too

Do you have a pic of where you mounted the amp at? I ran the wires today for the power from the battery and the RCA wires all to the hatch. Now I'm looking at how to mount this thing exactly. So I need to mount the amp to a board first then mount the board to the car? Where is the best place to mount this at? I think it will fit in the drivers side cubby hole. Do I need to seal off any holes that the screws will make? What kind of screws should I use? Thanks for the help! I should have this bad boy running up and running soon once I get this handled.
