ok well there is no word to describe how pissed i am right now, i installed the new battery and guess what THE VOLTAGE STILL DROPS!!! i was idling and i was tappin onn the brakes freq. and the voltage was drooppin right down to about 13, i then revved the engin to 1800rpms cuz the HO alt jams out 180amps there and pressed the brakes and nuthin happened with the voltage...
does nebody have ne ideas im thinkin of takin it to a shop 2mrrow to have it checked out.

Hmmmm.... it's really beginning to sound like the alternator just isin't putting out enough current at idle. Which I KNOW isin't true. My alt. outputs 80amps at idle. I assume your's is very similar. Now, when I first installed this alt I had NO problems for months. Even with the system cranked. Then, without changing anything, this problem starts. I assume you are in the same boat kamaro? And the pulley that is on there now is already pretty small. And made sure the belt tension was keeping tight and I also sprayed my belt with some "no-slip" spray..... I don't know.... it's pissin me off too.

ya where could i get one of those. i have a new belt on. im goin 2morrow back to the shop to get the alt testes to see how many amps are bein produced.

Hmmm... my SES light has been on ever since I installed my cat-back. (Been like 3 years :D ) I should probably fix that sometime. But, let us know what code you get. See if we can't figure this out....
ya well the SES light when off last nite so i dont think our comp saves the codes so i dont want to waste ne money on a scan.

UPDATE: Dead battery this morning. :( Bummer. I was hella late to work. I'm gonna buy another one when I leave work Tues. I'll let you know if that cures my voltage dropping problems. Odd though....I've had this problem for damn near a month now. She's been starting fine every morning and all through out the day.

DAMN! How I so wish you guy's could have figured out this problem, I'VE BEEN IN THE SAME BOAT FOR 2 WKS! and it's pissing me off, there's like a slam on the juice just when I brake to slow down very noticable at the 15-30 mpg range.
Mine is most noticable at idle or very slow speeds. It gets worse and worse the longer the car runs. Runs like a champ first thing in the morning....but after about 30mins of driving...voltage starts heading downhill. :( Which is bad because sometimes it takes me over an hour to get home from work if I don't make any stops! Traffic is a b!tch man. Anyhow, I assume the battery was my problem, but I won't know for sure until I leave work Tues evening.
this is a very pop thread now lol, were workin on it nino, if we find a solution 96 we should put it in the tech.
