Well fella's I finially came across a good deal on some eurosports so I decided to pick them up. I am either goning to run the tweeters with Kevin's (SShevy) mounts or I am going to get someone to fiberglass some mounts to the a-pillar facing the windshield. Any thoughts/ideas?

Matt

Had my Infinity tweets in the A-pillars near the windshield for quite some time. I liked em' there. I will be using Kev's pods for my next set. I'll let you know how I like them in a bit!

Matt, I just had those put in too. Fortunately, i have a firebird with the door pods. If I were you i would try and mount the tweeter down in the door area near the midbass and then pick up an Image enhancement kit from CDT over at thezeb.com . The IEK really works wonders with the soundstage, and keeping your main tweeter close to the midbass will keep you from getting 'seperation.'

Hey 311 what kind of components are you gonna run next? I think that the a-pillar would be perfect for the infinity tweets to calm them down a bit. Do you have any pics of those mounts? Are they Glassed? Where'd you get them?

sorry if I was unclear about the IEK...that you can mount in the A-pillar crossing the windshield. It also comes with it's own volume control which is sweet.

Larry I didn't know that you had the ES620's. How does the tweeter and midbass sound? I've heard excellent things about them, but never heard them in an fbody. How much did you get them for and where? Thanks Larry

Gonna try out the Adire Audio Koda's next. I think the on-axis tweet location will be good for the softness of the Kodas. I don't think the Infinity tweets are too out of control. I like them quite a bit actually. Nothing special to mount them in the A-pillars. I just cut a hole and flush mounted them. Looks perfect. I bought new A-pillars to replace the "holey" ones, since I'll be using Kev's pods. P.S. Kev's pods a VERY well built. I'm happy. Now to see how they sound!

Matt, I bought them from thezeb.com . They come with a 5-year warranty from CDT if you buy them from an authorized dealer (which thezeb.com is). If you buy them from an unauthorized dealer you only get a 1-year warranty. I paid $540.00 for them. The IEK is $49.00. I'm going to try and get some pics up here when my buddy gives me his camera. The only thing i've heard before (that was really good) was a Dodge Ram with Diamond hex series ruuning off Tru amps. I'm running off decent Clarions and I think they sound much more clear. There are things in songs that I've never heard before. I've only had them for 4 days now, and people say they take a few weeks to really break in. So if they getter better i'll be really happy. The tweeter is just a tad harsh. Much less harsh then the Diamonds though. I'd say get them. Everyone over on ECA (elitecaraudio.com) swears by them, and I like them alot myself. Hope that helps.

Matt,
I have personally never used a JL amp...but word of mouth from most professionals say the JL amps are TERRIBLE for components. They are good sub ambs, but terrible for components. Apparently, they aren't a very musical amp. Don't take my word, but look into it more for yourself. From what I've heard you can get a much better amp for your money than those...much!

Matt, you may want to check into the Eurosport braxial's too. I've heard nothing but good reviews about their imaging too. It will save u some money on installation too.

Well Larry I have done my studying on the JL amps and I have heard nothing but good reviews. As for the eurosports I already got a set for 385 shipped.

Let's hope the guys I talked to were wrong, and the guys you talked to were right! Good luck, and keep us updated about how everything turns out. Any date yet for installation? And the eurosports, u get them new or used for such a great price?

Thanks Larry, I am curios where you got your info on the JL multi channels amps though. I always like to hear both the pros and cons of car audio equipment. I will be installing the eurosports sometime next week. I am gonna have to go to staples and get some double sided tape so I can play around with the imaging of the tweeters before I find a permanent home for them. As for the price, yes they have been used for 2 months by a fellow camaro owner. I really coulndt decide between the eurosport or some BNIB CDT HD 62's for 270 shipped (I'm pretty sure thats what it was).

you'll be happy you went with the Euros....as for the JL multi-amps...the installer i went to was hooking up a mustang with brand new Focal K2P's with a JL 300/2. He said before I even had a chance to listen to the car that if he knew the mustang owner was going to use the JL amps he would have recommended something different. That those amps are terrible for the $$$. So he let me listen to the car and it sounded terrible. I had also heard that before from some other install guys over on ECA. I hope you have much better luck with them though.
