• Poll: Which head unit to get?

Right now my stock head unit is broken, it won't read CD's anymore, only the radio works.
I have Pioneer 200 Watt speakers installed and they sound pretty good with the stock head unit. My question for you guys is, should I get another stock head unit you know the Monsoon ones from a newer fbod and use it with my speakers, and hopefully new subs when I get them over the summer?? or should i just go ahead and get a Pioneer 77H made for GM vehicles?
Which one is better sounding and looks better in your opinion ? thanks.

I'd definetly go with the pioneer... especially if your thinking about putting subs in. I loved mine before I got an in-dash screen, and a factory replacement will cost you almost as much as say a deh-p6400 off e-bay. Biggest point to note is that without an aftermarket if you wanna get subs you'll have to get the line out converter, and your sub sound quality and volume will be SIGNIFICANTLY lower. A good hu can double the performance of your subs and your system for that matter.

I vote for the pioneer over the stock deck, but there's other decks which may be better. I'm not a big fan of pioneer, but they're stuff is at least consistent through out their product lines.

I guess that I am weird. I have always had JVC. I love the radios that I have had and never had a problem with one. I have stock sub-drivers, 4 1/4's in the rear, and Fusion components in the front. Sounds great.

The Pioneer 77 is the way to go. Besides fitting the factory opening (which makes for a ridiculously easy install), it also has front, rear, and sub outputs, which also makes wiring up an aftermarket system a breeze. Hands down, this is the best all-around unit you could get IMO.
