• Well i competed for the 1st time...suprising results!

well my buddy told me yesterday that there was going to be a car audio comp at a local audio shop. i wasnt going to enter but figured why not?! so we both entered. the guy suggested that we both run in the 750-500 watts rms class.

heres my set up:
2 13kv.2 Elemental subs(450 watts rms each)
1 NINe.1 Amp(900 watts rms)
Sub thump t-top box
ED Mid Range speakers by the seats
pioneer 4 ways in front
pioneer p6600 head unit

i got 146.5 db with the windows up and the mic on the dash and 147.1 with the driver side window down.

my buddy has 2 audio bon 12's
sony 1200 watt amp
sony 222w amp for seat speakers
sony head unit and audiobon line driver.

he pulled 144 db.

i am very happy with my numbers! i pulled some of the highest numbers there.

the top guy had a beretta w/ 2 15's, 2 amps, 2 caps, 2 optima red tops and he pulled 148.7.

i was a fun night. it was 35 to enter and i won a 7 color led underbody kit which i dont need since i already have one.

oh yeah i got 1st place too.

Very cool, but why were you in the 750W class with a 900W amp? Hey whatever the guy told you right? Sell the underbody kit to someone here on the board. Nice numbers.

With a custom made ported box you could do alot better IMO. I can pull 145.8dbs all day long with 1 Kove armagedon 12 and a bazooka El1500 (500w rms) in the floor board. Also what kind of meter did they use (term-lab, linerx)?

errr.... not impossible by any means.... but I still doubt it. Not in a daily driving setup.

It is not really a daily use setup. i have two diffrent setups i run 1 alpine type r and a 600w RF amp until competitons come around and then i put the armagedon back in. I have it in a 2.85 cubic ft box tuned to 42hz.

the guy didnt really know about elemental. i dont think he knew much of anything. i think that he though i meant it ran 900 peak even though i said rms.

i would love to have a ported box, but the t-top box doesnt have to option of being ported.

i have no idea what kind of meter they used. i am very new to competing. i sold the kit 2 night for 140. so now im going to get a set of ed components for the front.

since im new to all this im wondering what kind of number are you guys getting?

is the hatch what makes such a big diff?
