• Can I use neons in the home?

Heh, I didn't really know where to put this question. I want to use those black light tubes and neons made for use in 12V dc cars in my room. I can I splice them into a 12V ac adaptor's wires(converts household current from ac to dc). Usually the current output rating on those are like 300 mA(the 1.5V-12V adjustable radioshack type adaptors...I can get these cheap on ebay). Is that enough to run the neons? Also there are sets of neon tubes that pulsate to the music...they are attached to the controller box. The box gets its power from an opening where you plug the other end of the cigarette lighter into it(and the cigarette lighter goes to well, the cigarette lighter in the car)...it's like one of those standard adaptaplugs you can get from radioshack as well. So, I could also use these without splicing if they come with these. If the neon positive and ground wires are attached to the tube itself, I can just splice. Question really is...will this work? Cause I can get neons for cheap and I can get the adaptors for cheap. I think they would be better in the room than my car(club in mah room!)... when I get tired of them in the car(probably not too long). Is the current enough to power them? Thanks...sorry if I explained it in a confusing way.
Yes, I know \"Artic\" should be spelled \"Arctic\". Can any of the mods change this?

Go to walmart back in the automotive section they have a adapter that u plug your cig adapter into it and then plug it into the wall... The adapter is used so you can charge your phones in your house and any other things used in the car..

Didn't know they made those! How much do those usually cost? And what if the neons don't have the cigarette lighter adapter? Don't some neons just have the bare leads(like those CCL's(cold cathode light tubes) I want to get...cheap, very bright, less power consumption, less heat generated,...overall a great thing!). Thanks.

They run at like 5-10 dollars and you can connect a cig adapter to the bare leads its really easy..

Sounds good. Thanks again.

P.S. Someone at camaroz28.com suggested that I use a power supply from a pc...didn't think of that. It makes sense...those usually supply 12V for the disk drives. I'll probably get both. The adapters make it more portable or I can always just splice to a 12V ac adaptor. The power supply I'll try to find off of an old comp that no one uses. Anyone wants to donate their power supply to me???
