Dumb question about running wires to my trunk

I want to know if its hard to hide the wires well. I know that you have to take off the little piece of trim that is by the door and put the wire under that, but is it hard to slide it pass the passenger seat and into the trunk? It looks like only that one little strip comes off then you are faced with all that plastic that is next to the backseats... is it hollow enough to pass 4 Gauge wire through with no problem?

Weather is warming up so I will be able to sort of have a look myself and see exactly how hard this is.

I ask such dumb questions cause in my last car i didnt care that I had wires all over the place. i want this to be very neat/hiddden.

BTW i am ordering an amp rack and milhouse box (2 10s) tomorrow and installing it with a friend's help at his place. I cant wait to get this in. [img]smile.gif[/img]

its not hard at all you dont even have to take off the sail panels. you can pull up the rear seat and slip it under the panel

So I didn't have to worry about wires I ran the power cable under the car to the back. Not as hard as it seems. There is a small opening on top of the right fender right behind the battery. I drilled it a little larger and ran the cable behind the fender, to the rear fender using zip ties to hold the wire. I went up, over, and around the rear fender. If you take the spare tire out you will see a rubber stopper under it. I drilled a small hole in it to run the cable into the hatch. With the power cable under that paneling you can keep most of the wires out of sight. Thats how I did it anyway.

Its not hard at all when i first ran a single 4 gauge it took me about 30 min by my self.

Now i have 0 gauge.

Its gonna rain this weekend so i cant take a look at it til later on to figure out just how hard it is... I just dont want it to look messy or mess something up. lol

i installed my wires in the lowes parking lot at night...under all the plastic...probably only took 15 minutes after i figured out how to get the wire through the firewall.

For all you guys that ran wire in 15 or 30 minutes you are a better man than I. The best advice I can give you is take your time and stay away from shortcuts.

Very true freeser. It's just like picking out speakers for your system. You can get some real cheap ones, but it's better to do it right the first time and not regret it later. So like he said, take your time. Most pit crews don't do stereo work, so there's no need in trying to set a record for the fastest install hehe
