Cool. Is the wood attached to the car in anyway? How hard would it be to remove the board with the amp on it in a pinch? Say you needed your spare tire....

No the wood isnt attached at all....I made an exact stencil of the spare...I cut the plywood to fit very snug enough that nothing would be needed to hold on to it. I put carpet on the plywood and put it in. It doesnt move and it was a tight fit to get in. It can pop in and out in seconds.

so now your amp can overheat in there :)

good idea but its catch 22

after seeing that, I think im gonna do something similiar, but take the spare out.... and keep the side panel off, I dont really care how it looks...

No not yet I waited all day for the wire kit i ordered o get here...so i just went ahead and prepped the car for installation removing the panels ect...I hope I dont run into issues all though thinking about it ...it can get hot in the summer.....do yall think it will over heat and kill my system or will the carpet let it breath.....plus i didnt see any vents anywhere....if theirs any at all....

I bet it will be fine. If it does overheat, chances are it will just kick into protection mode until it cools down. Obviously this would be a problem if it was doing it all the time, but if it only does it after a few hours of hard bumping on the hottest days, big deal.

ive had my amp there for about 3 years know and it never over heats.

But i took out my spare since my amp is pretty big 100X4 Crossfire, and now i roll around with no spare.
