Anyone have a wiring diagram for the brake lights?

I want to splice that outside bulb which is just normally a parking light into my brake lights so that all three bulbs light up when im braking.

Ive taken the light out and looked at the wires. The two lights that are parking/brake have three wires running to them. The outside, parking only, light only has 2 wires.

Anyone know the difference in the wires and which one I would need to splice?

I guess I could figure it out on my own, but I dont want to totally chop up my wiring back there.

Awesome, thanks man...i just realized something...is the Camaro wiring the same as the Firebird?

I think it is...it looked the same when I messed with my friends camaro.

Well, lets see what ya got. I think it would be the same as the 2 color camaro lights...but you have tricolors.

The difference of course is that your turn signal is a seperate bulb whereas mine is the same as the brake lamp.

Alright, I have the wiring diagram in front of me for the firebird.

Okay, so you know that the outer tail lamps will flash if when you're turning...right? They'll also flash when you're stopping.

It's really easy actually.

1) On the right sideof the car, you'll see the three lights, 2 have 3 wires and one has just 2.
2) On the outer light with 2 wires (not the backup light!!) cut the [/b]brown[/b] wire.
3) Splice the cut wire to either of the two dark green wires.

1) On the left hand side of the car, there are of course the same three lights.
2) On the outer light, cut the brown wire
3) Splice the cut wire to either of the two yellowwires.

Remember, the outer light will now only come on if you are stepping on the brake or turning.

Thanks man. What if instead of cutting the wire and keeping it from running when the healights are on....what if I just stripped both wires and ran a wire between the two?

If you just spliced a wire to the existing wires, your turn signals/brake lights would stop working, they'd just light all the time ;)

You'd have to solder a diode between the two connections, I don't really have time to explain it right now but I can a little bit later....hang tight!!

Oh yeah, there's a slight chance that changing the wire like this would either blow the fuse or mess up the flasher circuit...the speeds might be a little off...

Anyway, I don't really have time right now but I'll reply again in a bit!
