• found old amp/subs

my brother bought this stuff a few years ago from somebody and its been sitting in the garage since. it's a kenwood kac-846 amp and the subs are 2 10" mtx "road thunder pro" (not sure the model).
anything i can do with these? i already have a kenwood deck, infinity components and midranges running off the deck, and a jensen 200w amp going to my 8" JL sub. can i use this kenwood amp to power the infinitys? or am i better off with what i have now?

here are the amp specs:
Kenwood KAC-846 4/3/2 channel amp
RMS ratings @ 14.4 vdc input:
50w/channel X 4 channels @ 4 Ohms
75w/channel X 4 channels @ 2 Ohms
150w/channel bridged 2 channel mono @ 4 Ohms

The Kenwood outputs 50WRMSx4@4ohms. A step up from power off the deck. I'd hook it up. Thinking of squeezing the MTX's in too?

upon closer inspection the subs are crap so i'm not gonna bother with them. if i used the amp, i guess i would leave the 200w jensen going to the sub, and the 4 channel kenwood to my 2 sets of speakers? would this be the best combo?
also, how hard would it be to do myself? or am i better off taking it to the place that originally did my audio stuff? thanks

VERY easy to do yourself. You will, however, need to buy more wire. Speaker, power and remote. What gauge power wire do you have running from your battery? Fuse size?

i think the wire they used going to my amp was 10g. the fuse on the kenwood amp is 20A, not sure if this is the fuse you mean or not. i'm guessing i have to take the wires going to the infinitys out of the headunit and have them go to the amp, then run a power wire from the battery to amp?? i've never done any audio stuff myself before so i really have no idea. thanks

10g?!?!!? Are you kidding me? What's the fuse size on the Jensen? Are they trying to start your car on fire!?!?!?! 10g is only good up to 35 amps max. A 30 amp fuse should be used. As long as they're using a 30 amp (no larger) fuse under the hood, then you're safe. If you are going to add the Kenwood, upgrading the main power wire IS A MUST. No larger then a 50 amp fuse should be used with 8g wire. If you're running the Jensen fine on a 30 amp fuse now + 20 amp for the Kenwood= 50 amp fuse. You should be fine with 8g, but if you got the cash, go head and run 4g now. Cause you know you're gonna wanna upgrade equipment sooner or later. And that 8g isin't gonna cut it.
