• Best amp for Kicker Comps

If anybody got some Kicker subs, what would be the best amp to push them?

Depends on what type and size of box they're in. Depends on which voice coil config you have. Depends on your budget.

I have the older 12" kicker comp vr's and the amp that all the local dealers recommended (they told me it was hte best amp for these speakers) is the Memphis 16-ST500D Mono Class D Sub Amp, it has 500w rms, and pushes the speakers VERY WELL!!! the bass will set off alarms, and i guess overall my setup gives lots and lots of bass.

As far as budget goes, between $200 and $400 should be fine, I'm gettin' a great deal on the speakers and I'll post some new info so I could get some advice and a great amp to push them

We still need to know what box they are in and what the EXACT model number of the subs are. But I'll try to recommend some for ya anyway. The JBL BP1200.1 can be had brand new for around $275. It outputs over 1200WRMSx1@1 or 2 ohms. That should be enough power to drive any sub that Kicker makes. (Except a pair of solo X's ;) ) If you are only getting the Comps or CompVRs, then that's MORE then enough power. Keep the gain down or you WILL fry them. But you'll have the power if you ever want to upgrade! :D If you are going to run at 1 ohm, cough up the change and go for an Autotek XS1500.1. Should be right around $400 new.

A'ight the subs are two 10 inch Kicker CompVRs..... the guy that's sellin me these bought it a month ago and used it like 5-6 times in the whole month, he had a Pioneer amp pushing it and it sounded pretty good. The subs will probably go in a rear enclosure box. Any ideas on a good amp?
