Does anyone know what wire is for the remote turn on that I can use to connect to my amp for remote turn on also? I had a GM car, and the wire was green, but it was also labeled "REM," so I am not sure of the color on this stereo. A wire diagram of all the wires would be nice if anyone has a link or something to it.

The Monsoon amp does not have a remote turn on input. It turns on when it senses that there is a sound signal to reproduce. No decks that I'm aware of from GM have had a remote turn on output. You can use the ACC switched wire as the remote turn on for your amp if you're installing an aftermarket amp but using the factory radio.

is it an aftermarket stereo or is it the original?

Its the factory Monsoon stereo. I am adding an aftermarket amp to run a single sub.

I think the wire that DrMilhouse is talking about is on the harness connected to the factory HU. I thought it was a green wire but the FAQ on ls1.com says its a pink wire. I have a magazine somewhere around here where they put a power antenna in a camaro and I was sure they said tap the green wire. I will see if I can find it. Anyway, if you have a camaro the wire is not used but on firebirds it is used to raise the power antenna.

Just tap in to the acc switched wire. That's the red wire on the wiring harness. That will set it up where your amp will only be on when your ACC is on. That will prevent killing your battery. You'll be fine with that since there's no other output. The antenna output previously mentioned is on the firebirds and t/a but it also powers the antenna. It probably is not powered when playing CDs. (don't quote me on that though)

I didnt think about that. I believe your right. Thats why a lot of the firebird/TA guys put a switch on their power antenna to keep it from going up and down when they eject cd's. Stick with DrMilhouse's setup.

Hmmm...Well I thought that was the reason they put a switch on their power antenna. Maybe its just to keep them from going up when they are listening to cd's.
