But on my HU the yellow wire is labeled "Battery" and if it wasnt connected I wouldn't be getting any power so it doesnt make sense.1998 Camaro V6 \"Black Mamba\"
Y87
Whisper Lid w/ K&N filter
Flowmaster American Thunder
Numerous appearance mods.
Car Domain

The "battery" wire allows your headunit to retain power even though the headunit is turned off. This will allow your headunit to keep your presets, clock, etc.
You now have the "battery" wire from the headunit connected to an ignition wire on the car. When the ignition is on, your headunit gets power and plays like normal. But as soon as you remove that power by shutting off the car, your headunit goes dead.

So which wire do I connect the battery wire to? It's connected to the other yellow one now.1998 Camaro V6 \"Black Mamba\"
Y87
Whisper Lid w/ K&N filter
Flowmaster American Thunder
Numerous appearance mods.
Car Domain

I had a harness, but the hot wires didnt match up. The volt meter told me. SO I have it hotwire in now.
By always hot, do you mean even when the car is off?1998 Camaro V6 \"Black Mamba\"
Y87
Whisper Lid w/ K&N filter
Flowmaster American Thunder
Numerous appearance mods.
Car Domain

If you want hot when the car is off you wind up having the same problem dmw319 is having about the headunit not turning off. ;)95 3.4L
http://www.myspace.com/1277388
http://www.cardomain.com/profile/altspacen
http://groups.myspace.com/camarov6

You need to connect the battery wire on the headunit to the orange wire on the car. Simple as that. [/QUOTE]Thank You. I'll try this and post here.1998 Camaro V6 \"Black Mamba\"
Y87
Whisper Lid w/ K&N filter
Flowmaster American Thunder
Numerous appearance mods.
Car Domain
