  • Replacing Factory Alarm 01 Camaro

Alright guys, I searched the board already but I'd rather get comments on my situation. I have a 2001 camaro that came with a stock alarm already. I'm going into a/v competition. Putting in some LCD's, new system, inverter, ps2 etc... My question is... what should I do for a new alarm? Is it difficult to get rid of the alarm that's already in there? Would it be better to purchase an alarm off ebay and have Best Buy disable the one now and install the new one? Just buy one from Best Buy? The last alarm I bought for my truck was an Avital or something from Best Buy for $200 installed. I wanna stay under $400 total (install and all) if possible. I want the best alarm I can get, I'm gonna have a few thousand dollars of equipment in there. So let me know what you guys would suggest. I appreciate it.

Get a good Viper system off ebay and install it yourself. Should only take a weekend. Here is a guide for you.

Oh....its also listed in your owners manual how to disable your factory alarm system.
