I love this deck but does anyone have any experience with it (I don't own it, I just like the look)

If you buy ANY JVC make sure to get an extended warrenty. I had 2 JVC's both with the extended warrenty, and after a while they don't eject CD's worth a darn... maybe a 1/4" and u gotta pull it out the rest of the way. Sometimes they didn't eject at all. Same thing happened with my friends JVC. It is a common problem with JVC decks, they use a real crappy ejection system for their CD's. Not to mention the whole motorized face pat which ='s more to break. If you like that look, Kenwood has a deck similar, but with 2 faces... sounds great, however the motor in that one is known to go out. Pioneer also puts out a dual faced one, and that one is a little more reliable than the JVC and Kenwood, and offers a detachable face. Stay away from Sony's lower end. Clairon is a good brand too, but any deck you buy, get the extra warrenty... it is well worth it (I'm on my 5th deck... Blasted Tucson Heat!!) You should never be able to bake anything inside your car when it is parked outside.... especially at 9 am! when i bought my car i had one JVC unit that looks EXACTLY like that except without the knob. it still has it actually (but i might get it changed out next week cuz i want my whole system to be alpine) But it has worked GREAT

I have that same Head Unit... it's nice, just replacing it with a LCD screen, so I'm gonna sell it off sometime soon... probably 150 including the best buy 3 yr warranty. [img]tongue.gif[/img] But it's nice, CD-Text whole setup, cept no mp3 cd's. :/Comment

I have, I think its the first model, Kameleon, it came with my Camaro. The guy bought it in '99 and it still works great, it has been doing some strange things lately though. It does have the ejection problem the guy was talking about, it only pushes the CD out about 1 1/2" but I just give it a little tug and it ejects it the rest of the way. The other thing it's doing is when I first start the car, the buttons comes out, and it turns on and you can hear sound, but sometimes the display doesn't turn on. The motors *knock on wood* haven't gone out on me yet, which I'm surprised, I've heard bad things about most of the motorized CD players getting stuck. It still plays CDs fine to, I have to say it oulasted my Pioneer, which I love Pioneer HUs. Dude that Sony is a piece. Trust me, I had a friend who worked in an electronics department. It's hard to see at certain angles, with it closed it's fugly... bah I'd check it out in person before buying it. Plus anything that goes in a car from Sony is a piece. There speakers blow all the time, amps overrated... blah blah [img]graemlins/thumbsdown.gif[/img]Comment
