My son is looking to upgrade the speakers in his 1998 Firebird Convertible (has the factory 12 disk CD in trunk, doesn't have the Monsoon system). Are the door speakers and rear side speakers 6 3/4" like the coupe? What is the size of the factory tweeter mounted in the door arm? I've searched all over for this info on covertibles and found next to nothing. Thanks for the help
i have the monsoon but im pretty sure they used the same sizes. mine are 6.5 all around and i believe the tweeter is a 1". before your son wastes money though talk to some people on here to see if the speakers he is looking are worth it. my first system was junk because i fell victim to good advertising and friends giving bad advice. good luck though.

oh by the way for the best sound quality dont bother replacine the rear speakers. for the best soundstaging all you need is a really nice paire of fronts. Look into CDT they are the best for sound quality and are only like 200 at www.thezeb.com. if your son is like a lot of my friends though he will, unfortunately, just want it loud and for that he will want all the speakers he can get and a different brand than i suggested. hope this helps.
