  • headunit doesnt turn off

i installed a system in my friends car, but for some reason.. when i turn off the car, the headunit doesnt power off. everything in the harness is wired correctly and its not like our cars (HU stays on until doors are opened). does anyone know what this problem might be? thanks.

Can the headunit be turned off by actually turning it off?
Are you SURE the headunit is wired correctly???? Maybe you have the opposite of Greg94's problem... ign wire on HU connected to batt wire on car...
Maybe you have bogus wiring color info for your friends car.

im positive everything is right, and yes. you can turn it off, but by hand, like holding down the button for 5 seconds (a pain).

u cant possibly be right, the power wire for the headunit is prolly hooked up to the memory..... what i have seen before on a ghetto install is the guy tapped the powe wire to the memory wire, which made it do that....

something isnt right, or you messed something up...

his dad wired the headunit up, and it was working fine for a few months, then i installed the system, but obviously i didnt touch any wire but the remote wire (blue). everything IS wired correctly, but i guess ill let him know what you guys think and ill ask him to triple check the wiring. i think it might be the HU.. oh well thanks for the tips!
