I've got a problem. I bought my car last week and the only thing wrong on the interior is that the display on my monsoon deck doesn't work. I noticed that when the sun hits it, it keeps time and everything so the only thing wrong is that it doesn't light up. Any ideas on what my problem could be?

I have the solution for you (I think). Just swapped a cd player for the equipped monsoon casette player. Inside the radio is a small incandescent bulb that illuminates the lcd. I am not at home, so I don't have the name of the company. Try United Radio in Syracuse, N.Y., they gave me the ac delco part number, but I could not buy the bulb from them. you pop the front off the radio and unscrew the bulb and install the new one. bulb was I believe 5 dollars plus shipping. ask them for the company that sells to end users, not dealers. It worked for me, should work for you. -
Thanks for the info on that, I had the same problem in my '97 except that the display would work intermidently. I took mine apart yesterday and found that vibration had made the bulb assembly loose, so I tightened down the tabs on the bulb housing and cleaned the contacts with an eraser, now it works great ... thanks again for the info.
