who here has found a good looking 1.5 DIN headunit that works well
or who has found a way to make a 1 DIN unit look good/clean in the dash without that ugly standerd trim kit?

Yes. And if you get set on the 1.5din style... I believe Pioneer is the only MAJOR company that still produces 1.5din headunits. If you search Ebay you'll find a lot of knock off brands trying to capture that market, but stay away from the el cheapo and stick with a company that has a proven track record.
Yeah, they have had the flush mount kits for a long time now.
