Does anyone have a CB radio in their Camaro? If so does anyone have any experience with those so-called "secret CB antenna that are suppose to work off the car's AM/FM antenna?
Finally, does anyone have any pictures of how they mounted one in the car so maybe it looks like it is part of the dash or at least not some big ugly thing sitting somewhere?

Check out my website in my sig. I've got my CB mounted in my console where the CD rack used to be.
No, I haven't heard of the "secret" antenna but let me know if you find something about it. I haven't put a whip on my car in about 3 years. I got tired of taking it on and off. I didn't care to much for the "redneck's corvette" look of a big whip sticking out off my ride. It reminded me of a big remote controlled car.

Have not tried the Secret antenna although I am familliar with what you are talking about. I have considered giving it a try too. I always want long range. But the CB...in the Camaro...is only for communication on the INSIDE of 1 mile. So it's not that big a deal if I lose some reception.
The problem is being that short you may not be able to tune it with an SWF Meter.
If that doesn't matter to you, don't worry about it. Just try to keep the antenna cable as short as possible and don't "kink-roll" the extra length (if you don't cut to fit) coil or loop it!

Harbin1, here is the antenna I was referring to. I had seen them before in catalogs but I don't know anyone that has one that could tell me how well they work.
I have always had a CB radio in my previous cars but I obviously I don't want a big CB antenna on my Camaro. This secret antenna thing looks promising if it actually works. I guess for $19.95 it isn't really that big of a gamble to see if it works or not.

It does state it comes with a VSWR tuning light. So if that function actually works you can tune it. That, AND, it states it uses your windshield or otherwise regular antenna (for the radio) and converts that into a CB antenna. So you may actually get 2.5 miles range or greater? I think I am going to use this one for my Camaro too, but I think I'll wait till I install a Trans-Am power antenna too.
If you are looking for all out antenna range. In my opinion Winegard Antenna's absolutely dominate anything else on the market. Nothing even compares.

Hey Bliggida, where did you get your power antenna? I have been thinking about getting one. No real reason beyond the gadget factor but gadget factor can be important! :)
I think I am going to purchase this "secret" antenna. If you want I will post my results here if you are interested.
I have always had a CB because my Dad is a truck driver so having a CB was just natural. You don't know how many times I have gotten around traffic due to an accident or construction because I knew about it from my CB! Plus I am sure it has saved me from some tickets in the past.
If I get this "secret" antenna I will post my results here.
Best regards
