Does the monsoon have an amp?

I have a HU i want to transfer, I have the GM adapter, is it just plug n play?

Also, I will be adding some JL components to the front and rear, will I need to remove anything to have them work properly? (will be powered by an amp.)

    ughhhh

Ok, ripped the OEM out, shoved the sony in (yes, sony sucks) and i hit a back plate of somesort, so i broke the plastic off and bent the metal piece back, yay it fits.

I didn't know I was going to have to do the +saw mod to make a DIN fit?

Ok, since you are planning to add new speakers and an amp, I recommend ditching the entire monsoon system all together. The monsoon amp is a POS and screws up any future upgrades. I hate that damn thing!

Just disconnect all your speakers and remove the monsoon amp. It's located on the passenger side next to the spare tire. Small little 8"x6" black box. Install your head unit as you would with any other car. Run a set of RCAs to your new amp and then run all new speaker wire to your JL components. Bam. Done. Never to deal with that damn monsoon again. :D
