  • elemental designs amps and components?

Ok i havent been to ed's site for a while but when did they start making amps and components? does anybody have one of their amps or components? if they are as good as their subs then i might look into going all ED with an eclipse HU. also has anyone used their new subs?

Their old Avionixx line of amplifiers were built by a third party company -- they didn't really have much to do with the guys at eD. But as I understand it, their new NIN series amps are Ed-designed, and the TRU amps are replacing the Avionixx product lineup as the third-party option.

I haven't had any direct experience with the TRU's or NIN's yet, but judging from the specs, I'd say this - they're overpriced. $550 for a 400x1 amp? I can do better elsewhere, thank you.

Avionixx has always been regarded as a solid amp on the higher end car-audio forums. I'm sure they'd work well if you really wanted to buy the brand. I push eD subs every chance I get, but I'll take a pass on their amplifier products.

the NINe.1 is selling for only 250 and the NINe.2 is only 150. those are the two im looking at, i figure the NINe.1 would be great for two ED subs and the NINe.2 would be great for my fronts which im still probably leaning towards CDT unless the ED components are similar quality (doubtful). thanks for the info, i could still use more though if you or someone else could help me out.

didn't notice the NIN prices. I was looking at the TRU's. Those aren't bad at all. Let me know if you buy them. I'd like to hear what you think.

Haven't heard anything about their components. Expertise in subwoofer design does not imply expertise in midrange/tweeter design. It's a completely different animal.

yeah, i know subs are very different. thats why CDT has yet to make an impressive sub but my god they have the best mids and highs i have ever heard. i think im gonna go with that voice in my head and get the mids from CDT, like i originally planned, and get the subs and amps from ED, and then just get the best eclipse HU i can afford.

That is a fantastic idea. That's exactly what I would have done if I could do it over again.
