• Name that wire

First off let me say I know jack $hit about car stereo. With that said on to the question. My stereo got stolen, but all the wires are still there so I figure I can hook up the new one. However, there's a few wires that I have no idea what they do.

One of them has a connector on the end so I figure it'll just plug in somewhere. (? #2) But the blue one looks like it had the end ripped off (? #1) so I have no idea what to do with it. So if anyone could tell me what it does/what kind of connector it should have it would be much appreciated :D

probably amp switch wires to turn the amp on and off light blue seems to be the choice color for that and they wouldn't be plugged in right now if it was.

The thieves stole your stock unit? Or an aftermarket? From the looks of what's back there, I'd guess aftermarket, but.... unless they stole your wiring harness too? (stock to aftermarket) I'm gonna have to say the blue wire is a remote turn on lead also. I see interconnects, so obviously there is an amp in the car. WATCH OUT! If you look about 6" back on that wire, it looks like it got sliced. Your gonna have to re-run that wire. The purple wire.... that's a tough one. Doesn't look stock so the color doesn't really mean anything. Could be a number of things. Grab a test light and see if it's ever hot. Or just follow it back. See for yourself.

Atleast they didn't chop off the main radio harness. Yeah who knows what that Purple wire is doing; it's not factory that's for sure. Let us know what it goes to.

Yeah it was aftermarket and there is an amp, I kinda figured that's what the blue wire is, I'll try following it back to see. And yeah it looks like when they yanked the head unit out it stripped part of the covering on the blue wire, but the wire itself is still intact. I figured some electrical tape could fix that. Purple I still have no idea, guess we'll find out
