This all was done for under $40, thanks to some generous people and my ingenuity. Special thanks to Navigatorbob for the free screen, and my another friend for the free playstation. I was given the older larger version playstation plus about 15 games, so I traded it in, plus $10 for the smaller sleeker PS1. Then I got the DC->AC converter for $29.99. I had all the wire, the switch crimping connectors, laying around. So I installed it.
The PS1 the converter and the screen all come on at the same time, with a flip of the switch.
One of my favorite parts is that the Converter is hidden inside the pass. kick panel.
There is no trace of the PS1 or any wiring other than the switch when the glovebox is closed
I almost had the larger style Playstation in there, I had to cut out the entire back of the glovebox. Then I had it fitting, but it wouldn't close by a 1/8 of an inch. And in the process I severed a airbag wire and almost destroyed my glovebox.
I had to remove the whole entire glovebox, and reassemble it with tape and glue from the backside. Now it is back to normall, with only a few hairline marks when it was cut.
I also had to stripp and solder, the broken ABS wire. Moral of the story, when you cut something, make sure you know what is behind it.
